House for Artists

area: 335 m2 (3600 sq ft)

The House for Artists is a house for two artists, located on the downhill of Fruska gora mountain. In the close proximity of the two large cities of Belgrade and Novi Sad it presents optimal balance between quiet and isolated place for creative work and fast access to the main urban events.

The house is designed in curved shape which have further affected the roof to be flat. The style of the house is a blend between contemporary white simplicity and retro futurism.

The layout of the house opens to the sun, so the house has windows mainly on south and west facade, while the north facade is left without any important openings. The north east terrace was added during the construction work.

There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms in the house, while the rest of the area is one connected space.

The ground floor of the house is mainly dedicated for the daily, living and entertaining areas, while the night and work activities are planned on the first floor, though, there is one small work corner in the basement.

The basement has two car garage, heat pumps room and the large storage room.

Day area

The living room has double story height and is connected to the studio and atelier of the first floor over the gallery and to the dining room and the kitchen in the ground floor. The west terrace is an inseparable part of daily area allowing a view over hillside vineyards around.

Working station

The three part atelier on the first floor has two large terraces, one opened to the west landscape and another, south terrace hidden by its roof and high fence giving the necessary isolation for the creative work. The atelier itself is well lit from all sides including the large roof lantern.

Guest/Kids/Media area

Two rooms in the ground floor were planned to be able to transform from kids or guest rooms into a media rooms supporting work areas: the library and cinema/media/ or music studio.
